THE PRIVATE-PAY DIFFERENCE

Care led by clinical judgment, not insurance limits.

Not every person heals on the same timeline, and meaningful therapy is rarely one-size-fits-all. The strongest therapeutic work often depends on the freedom to respond to the individual rather than the limitations of a reimbursement model. As a private-pay practice, treatment is guided by clinical judgment rather than insurance requirements, allowing care to be individualized to each person's unique needs, goals, circumstances and pace. This preserves the flexibility to respond as therapy unfolds, allowing care to remain responsive to the individual rather than third-party payer requirements while providing the continuity, privacy, and discretion many individuals value. For those who place a high value on confidentiality - including professionals, executives, first responders, military personnel, and others in sensitive roles - private-pay care also avoids the insurance claims process and the diagnostic information typically required for reimbursement.

  • Care guided by clinical judgment
  • Individualized treatment planning
  • Greater privacy and discretion
  • Care driven by patient needs rather than third-party requirements

Superbill for out-of-network reimbursement

Using out-of-network benefits is simpler than  many people expect.

Many clients are surprised to learn they can receive reimbursement for therapy while still choosing the therapist who is the best fit for their needs. Many PPO insurance plans offer out-of-network mental health benefits. For clients who choose to use those benefits, monthly superbills are available upon request to support reimbursement. Depending on the plan, many clients may recover a meaningful portion of their session fees while preserving the flexibility, privacy, continuity, and individualized care that often led them to choose a private-pay practice in the first place.

  • Monthly superbills provided upon request
  • Documentation prepared for reimbursement
  • Client submits claims directly to their insurer
  • Guidance for verifying out-of-network benefits

Referral partners and prospective clients can find additional information about fees and  out-of-network reimbursement on the Fees & Insurance page.
