The Details

A private-pay practice, by design.

Choosing a private-pay practice allows care to remain focused on you rather than insurance requirements. Sessions are individualized, confidential, and guided by clinical judgment rather than diagnostic mandates or treatment limitations. This approach creates greater flexibility, privacy, and space for meaningful therapeutic work. Out-of-network superbills are available for those who wish to pursue reimbursement through their insurance benefits.

Frequently Asked

Questions, gently answered.

  • I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Colorado. All sessions are held virtually via a secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform.

  • Yes. I work with both adults and adolescents. For teens, I seek to create a space where they feel safe, respected, and understood while maintaining appropriate communication and collaboration with parents or guardians.

  • You can schedule a complimentary consultation or request an appointment through my secure online portal. If you'd prefer to connect first, you're welcome to call or text me at 719.291.4388 or send a message through the contact form.  I will help you find a time that works.

  • I offer a limited number of evening appointments to accommodate work, school, and family schedules. Weekend availability varies — feel free to ask what is currently open.

  • My practice is primarily conducted through secure telehealth. However, I also offer a limited number of concierge in-home therapy sessions for established clients within select Colorado communities when clinically appropriate. If you're interested, we can discuss whether this option would be a good fit during our initial conversation.

  • Yes. Limited concierge in-home therapy may be available for established clients in select Colorado communities when clinically appropriate. This service is offered on a limited basis and is determined case by case to ensure it is the best therapeutic fit. Additional travel fees may apply depending on location. If you're interested in learning more, please reach out to discuss availability.

  • Before our first session, you will complete a few intake forms through the secure client portal.  These forms help me understand what brings you to therapy and ensure we have the information needed to begin thoughtfully and efficiently. Most clients find the process straightforward and easy to complete.

  • The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another. We'll talk about what brings you to therapy, what's been weighing on you, what you've already tried, and what you're hoping will feel different moving forward. My goal is not to rush into solutions, but to understand your story, your relationships, and what matters most to you. Many people tell me they feel relieved simply having a space where they can speak openly and be heard.

  • Just yourself. There is no perfect way to begin therapy and no special preparation required. If there are experiences, concerns, questions, or goals that feel important to share, you're welcome to bring those with you. The first session is simply a conversation - one that begins wherever you are.

  • Most clients begin with weekly sessions to build momentum and establish a strong foundation. As therapy progresses, we may adjust frequency based on your needs, goals, and circumstances. Together, we'll determine what feels most supportive and effective.

  • Therapy is not a race, nor is it meant to continue longer than necessary. Some people find relief and clarity within a few months, while others value longer-term work that allows for deeper growth and lasting change. Together, we'll decide what best serves your needs.

  • If you're running late, please send a message as soon as you're able. I will do my best to accommodate the time remaining, though sessions generally end at their scheduled time out of respect for other clients.

  • Life happens. If you need to reschedule, the easiest way is through the secure client portal. You are also welcome to call, text, or email at least 24 hours in advance. Whenever possible, I will work with you to find another time that fits your schedule.

  • I understand that unexpected situations arise and schedules sometimes change. If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, I ask for at least 24 hours' notice whenever is possible.  Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice, as well as missed appointments, may be charged the full session fee. This policy helps protect time reserved specifically for you and allows opportunities for other clients who may be waiting for care. If an emergency or unforeseen circumstance occurs, please reach out as soon as you are able. I recognize that life happens and will consider exceptional situations on a case-by-case basis.

  • No. You set the pace. My role is to create a space where you feel safe, supported, and respected as we explore what feels important to you. Therapy can involve difficult conversations, but you will never be pressured to discuss something before you're ready.

  • Confidentiality is a cornerstone of therapy. What you share remains private except in specific situations required by law, such as concerns involving immediate safety, abuse, or court orders. These limits will be discussed during the informed consent process so you always know what to expect.

  • Progress often shows up in meaningful everyday ways - feeling less overwhelmed, responding differently in relationships, setting healthier boundaries, gaining clarity, or feeling more connected to yourself. Throughout therapy, we'll regularly reflect on what is changing, what still feels difficult, and how therapy is supporting your goals. You may also be invited to complete brief check-in questionnaires periodically, which provide another way for us to measure progress and ensure your treatment remains aligned with your needs.

  • No. I am a private-pay, out-of-network practice by design. This allows therapy to remain focused on your needs rather than insurance requirements, treatment limitations, or diagnostic mandates. For clients who wish to pursue out-of-network reimbursement, superbills are available upon request.

  • Yes. Therapy sessions are typically eligible expenses for Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA). I can provide receipts or documentation if needed for reimbursement or record-keeping purposes.

  • A superbill is an itemized receipt that you may submit to your insurance company to request out-of-network reimbursement. While reimbursement varies by plan and cannot be guaranteed, I am happy to provide a superbill for clients who wish to pursue reimbursement through their insurance benefits.   Many people choose private-pay therapy because it offers greater privacy, flexibility,  and the freedom to receive care based on clinical judgment rather than insurance requirements. This creates space for therapy that is individualized, thoughtful, and tailored to your unique goals.
